Date: Wed, 20 Mar 96 17:51:28 GMT From: gjohnson@acorn.co.uk (Gary Johnson) To: cam-all Subject: New Arrangements from 25 March As you will know, Acorn are vacating the site at Vision Park, Histon. A number of staff are moving out of Acorn House this weekend, 23 and 24 March, into Unit 7 at Cambridge Technopark, which is situated conveniently next door to Ditton House. This means that there will be a few Acorn staff left on the ground floor at Acorn House, with the first floor remaining as at present for the next few weeks until we finally move out completely at the end of April. From Monday 25 March the following people will have relocated: (i) David Lee is moving to an office on the first floor at Ditton House (formerly the Shepperton meeting room). Teresa Harper will be moving with him to Ditton House. (ii) Gary Johnson is moving to Unit 7. (iii)Richard Conway is moving to Unit 7. Francine Brindley will be moving to Unit 7 also. (iv) The Personnel Department are moving from the ground floor at Ditton House to Unit 7 next door. (v) The Finance, Purchasing, Warranties Groups and most of CSG are moving to Unit 7. From Monday, 25 March, the bulk of Acorn Group personnel will be located at the Technopark, with Finance, Logistics, Personnel, Purchasing and CSG in Unit 7. It makes sense, therefore, for central services such as reception, post, and stationery to be located in Ditton House from then on; these services will be operated by CSG. Reception: One of our two receptionists, Vivien Braybrooke, will be moving to Ditton House to provide a reception service for Ditton House and Unit 7 with effect from 25 March. She will work from 8.30 am to 5 pm, with cover outside these hours being provided by a security guard from Group 4. This should improve the impression created for visitors at Ditton House, and should make life much easier for all the people who have had to meet visitors until now. Ann Darwin will continue to provide a reception service at Acorn House until we finally move out. Ann will then move to the Quorum to provide reception services for 'NewCo'. Courier services, health club bookings and other reception services will be moved to Ditton House. Goods for Ditton House and Unit 7 should be delivered to Reception, and people will be requested to collect them immediately to keep the Reception area clear. Pool cars: For the next few weeks we will continue to have one pool car at Ditton House and one at Acorn House. Post: The central post function will be located at Ditton House, in the room behind the Reception desk, which is being converted to deal with all incoming and outgoing post from all sites. Royal Mail deliveries and collections will be at Ditton House, with Arrowpak continuing to provide the linking service between Ditton House, Acorn House and Coral Park. Outgoing post: Acorn House post should be placed in the sack for Ditton House which will be left in the post room by 3 pm, ready for transfer to Ditton House for franking. Unit 7 and Ditton House post should be left in the "Outgoing post" pigeon holes in the post room behind reception by 4 pm. Incoming post: This will be sorted at Ditton House. OM, ART, Personnel, Finance and other groups at Ditton House and Unit 7 should collect their own post from the relevant pigeon hole in the post room after it has been sorted. Post for Acorn House and Coral Park will be transferred by Arrowpak. The post will be sorted and franked by the Receptionist, with back-up from CSG. Stationery: Stationery will be ordered centrally by Vivien Braybrooke. The present stationery cupboard on the first floor at Ditton House is being converted to hold stationery for all Acorn staff. The move and various changeovers should be completed and everything ready for start of work on Monday morning. If anyone has any queries, could you please contact Pat Wilson. Should any problems arise, then do please get in touch - but we would be grateful for a little forbearance! Gary Johnson
