A Great Venue For The School Half-Term Holidays

It's the best show in town to educate and amuse the whole family, and it comes at just the time when you want to know more about the Information Superhighway, the Internet, browsing the World Wide Web, and the emerging, broadband network "Set-Top Box" technology. Acorn World '95 is a super event to find out what all this means, and the best way to "get on-line". With lots of demos, information from experts and good savings on advance tickets - it's altogether too good to miss!

Each day there'll be a variety of topical theatre presentations, including one by Acorn's Chris Cox at which he'll explain all about the Superhighway, and answer questions from the audience.

You'll be able to "get on-line", both by getting "hands-on" the Internet in the futuristic Cyber Cafe area - a chance to find out what it's like, and by buying-in through Argo Net which will be selling a complete Internet package. So come on down and have a browse.

Live Internet link between Acorn World and Blue Peter at The BBC Big Bash at the NEC in Birmingham.

In the Cyber Cafe there'll be a live Internet link with Blue Peter at the BBC Big Bash in Birmingham at the NEC. Whizz kids at both events will be able to "chat over the net". Blue Peter will be filming them at Wembley on Friday, the first day of Acorn World '95, for transmission on their program later that day.

Technology City

• The mecca of the event, and the place to see the latest from Acorn:
• New Acorn models - first public viewing of the Risc PC700 and A7000
• Multimedia as part of Risc PC system - an opportunity for some face-to-face questioning, and on the upper level of the exhibit a whole Multimedia Experience area
• Simtec multiprocessor card will be running
• a feature on networking which picks up the theme of the show:
  • Omniclient running in conjunction with a Acorn SchoolServer
  • Access and other networking protocols running on the Risc PC
• a Risc PC 700X demonstrating the use of UNIX on the Risc PC
• TAOS, see the latest version for the Risc PC - a microkernal based operating system, recently released.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE... An Early Learning area reflecting Acorn's recent link-up with the Pre-School Learning Alliance to promote IT in playgroups nationwide. An opportunity for parents and toddlers to play on computers and get some sound advice, with two free, daily training sessions at 11am and 3pm.

PLUS a futuristic computer games arcade, competitions with prizes, jugglers, magicians, face painting, and a free, colourful, toy-packed creche!
