Acorn Computer Group's experience of developing technology for the superhighway mass market and for education, and our growing understanding of the full range of services possible on the superhighway, convinces us that the superhighway will be a reality sooner rather than later. We are convinced Education must be a key user of the superhighway.
We also believe the economic success of the UK is critically dependent on how we use new technologies to enable education and learning, and how we use it to enable teachers to manage learning.
To make this happen we need a clear and united vision, led by government, and the right regulatory, commercial and education funding framework. We must free companies, individuals and institutions to develop, create and promote education services of all kinds. The education superhighway must support the whole spectrum of activity from completely government funded development and services to that which is completely commercially based.
